Sea and land, an ideal climate for sport activities, the support of the most advanced and extremely versatile structures. These characteristics, which make Alassio unique and precious, also recommend it to the world as the ideal place for sport. Modern facilities to satisfy the requirements of all sportsmen are devoted to traditional sports, both individual or team. For obvious climatic and logistic reasons much space is devoted to sport activities which don’t require any facilities and to those requiring facilities which can be integrated into the natural surrounding, thus enabling sportsmen to discover and enjoy the beauty of the landscape, the variety and richness of the flora and fauna which make of Alassio and Liguria a splendid gym in the open air.

During the Summer months (but not only) most sportsmen are attracted by the sea: the wonderful depths, the beaches and the cliffs offer many possibilities for sport activities from diving to surfing, from sailing, which has made the name of Alassio famous all over the world, to cycling, from wind-surf to off-shore racing. From volley-ball to beach-ball from karate to aikido, from tennis to bowling: from January to December the town is always present in the roll of honour of sporting events. 

Hikers and trekking lovers can enjoy wonderful itineraries both in Summer and in Winter. Horse-riding fans can find panoramic and naturalistic routes of great quality following the ancient roads connecting villages, far from the town noise.We must point out the San Bernardo route better known as “green route”. To get there it is very easy: from Via Borri (sport ground) you go up in the direction of the panoramic road towards the “Puerta del Sol” as far as the remains of San Bernardo Church.
On the left of the road, opposite the Church, starts the green route of about two kilometres among pine trees and different types of bushes. Some gymnastic tools and benches have been placed among them to make the stay in those surroundings more exclusive and pleasant.
You can also practice hang glider, minigolf, table tennis, football, basketball...
